Position Responsibilities: Mechanic - This is a detailed description of the responsibilities of the Mechanic at Client in Greer, SC - DIRECT HIRE
Hours: 8:30am – 5pm (Monday – Friday)
Pay: $20/$24 (Depends on experience)

1. Set-up the production equipment and ensure it is ready for incoming production orders, including
a. two vertical pouch powder detergent filling machines
b. two liquid detergent filling machines
c. five bottle labeling machines
d. three bottle filling machines with production line accessories
e. one paste and one gel filling production line
f. two manual filling production lines
g. one skin packing production line
h. one blister packing production line
i. one RF Sealing production line
j. two shrink-wrapping production lines
Note: only a few of these run simultaneously at any given time.
2. Troubleshoot the production equipment to ensure their consistent uptime.
3. Conduct ongoing preventive maintenance for the production equipment, including
a. prepare parts orders
b. buy supplies
c. install replacement parts
d. perform oil and filter changes (for compressors)
e. replace air filters
f. maintain electric stacker batteries
g. replace batteries for propane forklifts.
4. Conduct ongoing preventive maintenance and troubleshoot facility equipment, including
a. four compressors, air dryers, and air lines
b. six sprinkler systems with one compressor each
c. two heating and air conditioning units
d. nine natural gas heaters
e. ceiling fans and portable industrial fans
f. exit signs g. function as a primary point of contact for external repair, maintenance, and utilities personnel.
5. Install and set-up new production and facility equipment.
6. Time permitting, help production personnel as needed, including
a. bring materials to the production line with the forklift
b. remove pallets of finished goods from the production line
c. stretch-wrap finished goods pallets on one of the automatic wrappers
d. return unused materials to the storage warehouse with the forklift.
A successful Mechanic possesses the following qualities:
a. mechanical abilities with packaging and manufacturing production equipment
b. able to research, read, and understand equipment operations manuals, technical manuals, and parts diagrams
c. team oriented with a support focus
d. flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing production environment
e. able to support non-technical production personnel
f. able to report directly to the owner, who is also non-technical
g. reliable
h. punctual.
