Job Summary:
Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies. Oversees the intercompany reconciliation with parent company.
Essential Functions:
Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
Prepare financial audit request for interim, year-end, and during mid-year review.
Make recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets and expenditures.
Document and monitor internal controls.
Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments.
Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations.
Cross train in Accountant and Accounting Manager duties
Other projects as assigned.
Senior Accountant/Controller
Qualifications:
Experience/Training/Education:
Accounting degree or equivalent
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in accounting function; experience in Big 4 a plus
Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles
Knowledge of auditing practices and principles
Knowledge and experience of related computer applications
CPA desired
Knowledge of SAP
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Working knowledge of accounting functions
Overall view of corporate income taxes
Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Windows
Good verbal and written communication skills
Team player
Works well under pressure
