Fabrication/Assembler/Production

 

URGENT HIRING 1ST AND 2ND SHIFT

$15 PER HOUR TEMP TO HIRE

 

Must have 2+ years of recent stable manufacturing experience

Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. as needed

Must have reliable transportation to and from work

Normal hours are 3pm-11pm may work 1pm-9pm on Fridays also must be ok with working over-time if needed

1ST SHIFT 7AM-30PM

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK OVER-TIME

MUST HAVE BASIC MATH SKILLS

The Fabricator will fabricate, assemble, and quality-check sheet and extruded metal products, such as simple and complex brake shapes, column covers, panels, flashing, coping etc or automotive parts. Work may involve any of the following: setting up, assisting fabricating machines operators such as Brake Press, Shear, Saws, and Rollers to cut, bend, sand, grind and roll sheet metal; welding, packing, inspecting, and assembling, material movement and packing This position will report to the lead with in his/her department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Accountable for safety, productivity and quality of fabricated or automotive products within a department

2) Team member in a specific production department area, e.g. weld.

3) Follows priorities according to operational schedules and department Lead’s directions.

4) Responsible for maintaining traceability and packaging parts according to company guidelines and customer requirements.

5) Helps with housekeeping effort in his/her area to continually improve in accordance with 5S methods.

6) Knowledge and understanding of required safety equipment and its proper usage. Always wear your PPE when required.

7) Read production instructions and interpret part drawings to ensure correct fabrication, surface quality and piece counts. Ensure that customer requirements are met.

8) Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material according to drawings or templates, using measuring tapes, calculators, scribes, squares, calipers and rulers.

9) Recommend, and support continuous improvement within the department and the company to improve employee performance, quality control, productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction.

10) Notify our Department Leads when problems arise in meeting customer requirements.

11) Be flexible: performs various other duties as required by your supervisor.

 

Required Skills

1) Ability to read and interpret production instructions and part drawings

2) Ability to work well with others.

3) Ability to participate in production and safety meetings and innovate using process thinking and continuous improvement.

4) Past experience in a manufacturing environment

5) Must be available for necessary overtime

6) Understanding of continuous improvement principles

7) Knowledge and understanding of required safety equipment and its proper usage

8) Ability to interpret company policies and follow safety regulations.

 

 

    1. 9) Effective English communication/comprehension skills – verbal and written – including: Read English and identify main ideas and clearly stated details of production instructions and drawings.

    2. Understand the correct meaning of common, everyday English workplace words.

    3. Interpret and apply company policies and safety regulations

    4.  

    5. 10) Math skills must include: Determine lineal dimensions, perimeters and areas from fabrication drawings calling on Geometry skills by solving problems that may require one or two operations

    6. Add commonly known fractions, decimals, or percentages (e.g., 1/2, .75, 25%)

    7. Add up to three fractions that share a common denominator

    8. Multiply a mixed number by a whole number or decimal

    9. Possess strong ability to count, add, subtract and use a tape measure.

    11. 11) General computer navigation skills.

    12. 12) Ability to read and interpret production instructions and workplace graphics such as detailed schedule reports, part drawings, forms, tables, graphs, diagrams, maps or instrument gages.

    13. 13) An average score of 4 or better in the following WorkKeys Assessments: Applied Mathematics (minimum score of 4) , Reading for Information (minimum of 3)

 

Preferred Skills

1) Working knowledge of fabrication equipment within a department

2) Previous supervisory experience

 

Education -- GED, Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Good listening skills are prerequisite. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
