Job Purpose The purpose of the Buyer I is to ensure product availability through PO placement, management, and delivery into the DC network to maintain a high service level and achieve set inventory goals.

Be proactive and engaged in communicating with suppliers, peers, management, and other company divisions.

Works in lock step with Distribution Planners and Buyer II as well as the Demand team, Sourcing and Manufacturing, Logistics, and management.

Responsibilities Inventory Management Maintain an adequate supply of inventory to support the demand and safety stock for the DC network and limit backorders to ensure stated service level goal.

Work directly with Buyer I partners to communicate backorder recovery, critical POs, roll outs.

Know and maintain inventory targets for assigned DCs.

Review inventory turns to ensure DCs are not over stocked.

Work with peer Buyers on DC to DC inventory transfers to cover needs as needed. Issue Resolution Reviews identified shortcomings in current compliance processes, systems and procedures and works with guidance to ensure solution of ad hoc problems within the assigned unit/(sub)discipline Order Placement and Backorder Prevention Review reports and SAP alerts for all assigned products and expedite goods as necessary.

Work with Buyer I, Demand team and management on incoming inventory to determine as a team backorder recovery. Participate in backorder team meetings and help provide weekly backorder updates to ensure quick resolution on all products. Monitor all orders from order placement to receipt into the DC to ensure on-time delivery of product. Supplier and PO Management

Review all open POs for assigned materials on a weekly basis and contact suppliers regarding any past due POs.

Hold suppliers accountable to original PO delivery dates. Involve management and Sourcing/Manufacturing on late supplier details.

Hold regular calls with key suppliers with expectations around call details. Update PO dates as needed weekly to reflect accurate delivery information.

Detail Orientation Thoroughly execute all planning functions, including investigations, problem solving, and communication. Analytical Skills Ability to look at large amounts of data and break it down into necessary and meaningful business information. Includes strong ability to work within MS Excel and SAP.

Can navigate through SAP and reports with ease.

Education

General Education Bachelor's degree preferred in Supply Chain or Operations Management

Experience General Experience 0 years' experience in Supply Planning, Purchasing or Buying Managerial Experience Non-Additional Information
