As a member of the Purchasing team, the roles and responsibilities of the Buyer will be timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services to support the company s production plans. These activities include but are not limited to: supporting the strategic procurement process, execution of supplier agreements to include team-based bid processes, negotiations, supplier selection/development, and contract management. This position is responsible for managing and defining the procurement process of necessary goods and a timely, economical, and efficient manner in order to meet manufacturing goals. Goals are met by implementing and maintaining effective relationships with current Commodity/Category suppliers as well as developing new supply sources within your designated area. This position requires strong collaborative skills and works closely with the procurement, sales, engineering, logistics, plant management, operations, maintenance, stores, and accounting personnel in efforts to particular supply and demand goals.

Two to five years of purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Two to five years of experience utilizing MRP software
Associate s degree is desired
Strong working knowledge of MRP systems, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel required
Proven project, procurement, and inventory management skills
General knowledge of manufacturing, industrial relations, logistics, and procurement procedures and techniques
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team
