We are seeking a full-time Carrier Manager who is logical, self-motivated, and driven to join our growing team. Carrier Managers source and procure carriers to transport customers' freight to their requested locations. Establishing and maintaining carrier relationships while ensuring on-time pick and delivery will be central to your daily tasks. Carrier Managers are high skilled negotiators and salespeople who thrive in changing environments to adapt to continually changing market conditions

Responsibilities:

Setting up new carriers and ensuring all proper documentation is provided

Develop and maintain carrier relationships and contacts at multiple organizational levels

Procuring carrier capacity to cover Helix freight

Negotiating Van, Flatbed, and Intermodal rates with carriers and clients

Assigning, tracking, and reporting on carrier performance

Ensuring timely pick and delivery of customer freight

Make/receive a high number of phone calls

Other duties as assigned, individual projects or assignments as needed

Requirements:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Six months or more brokerage experience in flatbed or dry van market

Familiarity with DOT trucking regulations

Proficient in using MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)

Ability to multi-task in a very fast-paced environment

Ability to handle a high volume of phone calls

1-3 years experience working for a 3PL

Experience with Mercury Gate TMS, DAT, Internet Truckstop, and Carrier 411

Market knowledge of truckload lanes and rate fluctuations

Excellent rate negotiation abilities

Excellent work ethic
