Asphalt Distributor Operator

Locations: Hillsville/Dublin

We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Distributor Operator to join our paving and construction team. This position is responsible for operating an asphalt distributor truck to apply liquid asphalt, tack coat, and other paving materials on roadways and paving projects. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate material application, perform routine equipment maintenance, and support paving operations while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate asphalt distributor truck and spray systems.

  • Apply asphalt products at designated rates with consistent coverage.

  • Perform equipment inspections, cleaning, and minor maintenance.

  • Operate a broom sweeper as needed to prepare surfaces for tack application.

  • Assist with paving activities and other construction-related duties.

  • Follow all safety standards when handling hot asphalt and operating equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Valid Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement.

  • Acceptable driving record.

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Experience operating additional heavy equipment is a plus.

  •  Compensation: $17.00 per hour

 

 

Equipment Operator - Paving

Location: Roanoke & New River Valley (NRV)

We are seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to join a paving crew. This role is responsible for operating heavy paving and earth-moving equipment to support roadway, parking lot, and pavement construction projects. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and experienced in working in fast-paced construction environments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy paving equipment including pavers, rollers, loaders, graders, and related machinery.

  • Control equipment operation to ensure proper asphalt placement, compaction, and grade requirements.

  • Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance.

  • Monitor equipment performance and report mechanical issues.

  • Work closely with crew members to maintain efficient paving operations.

  • Follow safety procedures and identify potential jobsite hazards.

  • Assist with material handling, equipment setup, and site preparation.

  • Work overtime, nights, and weekends as project needs require.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum three (3) years of heavy equipment operating experience.

  • Ability to read project plans and understand grade control.

  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation; CDL preferred.

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Ability to lift 40-50+ pounds regularly.

  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments.

  • Must be able to pass required pre-employment and random drug screenings.

Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour.

 

Motor Grader Operator

Location: Roanoke / NRV

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Motor Grader Operator to perform fine grading and finish work for roadway, site development, and paving projects. This role is responsible for operating a motor grader to spread and level dirt and stone, maintaining grade accuracy, performing equipment inspections, and working closely with construction crews to ensure safe and efficient project completion.
