2 nd Shift Die Setter/Williamston, SC
Hours: 2:30pm 11pm (Monday Friday)
Pay: $16.00/$18.00 (Depends on Expereince)
SUMMARY
Responsible for following die setup sheet, securing the tool in the press, press control and terminogy, CAM functions/settings, and die protection. Train all levels of production associates on their job requirements at work stations and documenting training results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in developing new training and methods of training for production team
Acts as a proxy production associate in whatever capacity is needed
Acts as a proxy utility resource as needed
Trains on how to set up or hang all coils for machines, and helps run the steel into the die.
After the coil is hung and ran into the die, stays and helps with any problems to ensure good production run.
Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem and/or repair machine.
Initiates trouble shooting of die problems.
During change-over and downtime cleans and removes old/bad t-nuts in shaker bars on presses.
Builds and exchange shaker trays as needed
Trains associates as needed such as operators, material handlers, utility resource, and die setters
JOB REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school education or equivalent with 3 years maintenance or related experience.
Excellent, demonstrated mechanical skills.
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Demonstrates an understanding of coil loading procedure, straightner function, feeder function, show to set shut height position, and how to program press controls.
Ability to troubleshoot production issues.
Ability to work with little or no supervision.
Good math skills; ability to calculate and comprehend necessary math concepts.
Ability to complete required paperwork through basic reading and writing skills.
Ability to move up to 35 pounds.
Ability to obtain an industrial powered lift truck license.
Ability to obtain an overhead crane license.
Good people skills and ability to communicate well with other individuals.
Must be flexible to work cross shifts as needed to assist with training new associates
General knowledge of various metal stamping equipment.
