Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Domestic Logistics Coordinator to manage and coordinate daily domestic freight operations, including truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL), and intermodal shipments. The ideal candidate will ensure on-time delivery, cost-efficient routing, and clear communication between carriers, warehouses, and customers. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule and dispatch shipments across multiple transportation modes, including FTL, LTL, and intermodal.

• Coordinate with carriers, warehouses, and customers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.

• Track and trace all active shipments, providing real-time updates and quickly resolving delays or disruptions.

• Negotiate rates with carriers to ensure cost-effective transportation solutions within budget guidelines.

• Prepare and review shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, delivery receipts, and load confirmations.

• Communicate proactively with internal departments such as customer service, warehouse, and sales to maintain smooth logistics operations.

• Maintain accurate shipment records, carrier agreements, and rate sheets.

• Monitor carrier performance and develop relationships with reliable, compliant transportation partners.

• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company procedures.

• Identify opportunities to improve shipping processes for efficiency and cost savings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.

• 1–3 years of experience in domestic transportation or logistics coordination.

• Solid understanding of U.S. DOT regulations and freight classifications.

• Experience with TMS (Transportation Management Systems) preferred; familiarity with McLeod, MercuryGate, or similar systems is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).

• High attention to detail, especially in documentation and shipment tracking.

Work Environment

• Office-based position with standard business hours, Monday through Friday.

• Occasional overtime required during peak shipping periods.

• Fast-paced environment requiring multitasking and quick decision-making.
