Machine Operator – Band Saw (Training Provided)
Elgin, IL
Pay: Based on experience

We are currently seeking a Machine Operator to operate a Band Saw at a well-established facility. Training will be provided for the right candidate. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team in a clean, safe, and organized manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor assigned band saw machinery

• Assist with routine preventive maintenance and inspections

• Work with plant management to ensure inventory of parts is maintained

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

• Follow all established safety rules and procedures

• Organize parts and prepare them for the next stage of processing

• Operate additional fabrication equipment as needed

• Use hand tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, drills, grinders, and banders

• Use measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, and micrometers

• Read and interpret simple blueprints and geometric tolerances

• Convert and work with fractions and decimals

• Produce quality parts efficiently while working safely and independently

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience operating a band saw

• Ability to operate a forklift and/or overhead crane (preferred)

• Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints and shop drawings

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain productivity in high-pressure situations

• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
