CHASE Professionals is actively seeking a Machinist/Technician to repair and rebuild production and service equipment and manufacture machine parts. **THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY**
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Read and interprets blueprints to set up machine tools.
Use precision measuring and gauging tools to perform inspection before start of job.
Repair and rebuild manufacturing or service equipment from blueprint and/or company manuals.
Manufacture parts when they aren t commercially available.
Produce parts to tolerances and company specifications.
Use typical machinist' s hand tools.
Set up and test production equipment under power, testing for mechanical difficulties, tracing to their sources and correcting problem.
Perform skilled maintenance activities including construction, welding, brazing, soldering and plumbing. Analyze mechanical and operational problems on equipment and take corrective action.
Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
Test equipment to check operation after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime.
Make preventive maintenance checks and inspections.
Notify the Maintenance Supervisor of reoccurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken, and of quality problems or supplies needed.
Instruct and directs any maintenance trainees assigned.
Troubleshoot and maintain a variety of mechanical equipment including air compressors, repair rollers, chains, bearings, install seals, sprockets, chillers, gearboxes, pumps, fans, valves, motors, extruders, dies, grinders, winders, bag machines and various other support equipment of this plant.
Start up and shut down equipment in line with company safety procedures for equipment under power and OSHA guidelines.
Candidate must be able to follow written and verbal instructions including sketches or diagrams.
Proficient with mechanical and electrical principles and machining practices.
Knowledge of modern fabrication and assembly techniques and machine-shop practices and techniques. Able to mentally visualize and comprehend all aspects of a manufacturing equipment or tooling problems, understand the inter-relationships of factors affecting a given situation, and to be attentive to detail.
Capable of efficiently integrating existing methods with new innovations to economically solve production problems in a timely manner.
Has initiative and ability to work effectively with little direction.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and management staff.
Self-motivated with good problem-solving skills.
Monday-Friday (Morning Shift) Flexible to be on call
Pay: $16-$18 based on experience
