Client in Greenville, SC is in the market for a Mechanical Engineer
Hours: 7am - 4:30pm (Monday - Friday)
Pay: 80k (Depends on Expereince)
MUST have machine designing skills
Job Duties:
Design and develop products, equipment, and systems. Conduct research as required applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials. Implement sound design for manufacturing principles and selection of original equipment manufactured (OEM) components to produce the simplest, most cost-effective product to meet our end markets needs.
Duties and responsibilities
Create and develop new products and systems; execute development.
o Develop Solidworks models and manufacturing drawings
o Source OEM equipment and materials
o Understand and specify manufacturing processes
o Develop bills of material
o Assemble, test, and evaluate machinery
Evaluate designs with regard to cost, manufacturability, serviceability, ergonomics, safety, and compliance with specifications.
Execute design changes, cost reductions, warranty improvements, and manufacturing methods.
Perform and analyze tests to track results and make improvements.
Perform root cause analysis and work towards resolutions.
Conduct engineering qualification tests on project; ensure compliance with all outside parties involved.
Write product specifications, document test results, prepare product operating instructions and review technical literature.
Participate in trial testing, machine installation, startup, and support of equipment at customer facility.
Responsibility for the health and safety of others through sound designs through manufacturing, assembly and service.
Other duties as required to meet customers requirements and deadlines.
Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering or similar program.
Experienced 3D cad user, Solidworks preferred.
Experience with manufacturing drawings, dimensioning and tolerancing, manufacturing processes.
Strong mechanical aptitude. Must demonstrate basic knowledge of mechanical systems and manufacturing methods.
Hands-on mechanical experience. Experience with basic tools, assembly and repair of mechanical apparatus.
Superior computer skills; well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly strong with Excel).
Experience in 2-D CAD or similar package to support machine and production plant layouts preferred.
Able to thrive in a team environment. Provide support and encourages collaboration.
Able to work in a culture of continuous improvement, using the given tools within the business to drive for simplicity, cost reduction, and overall process improvements.
Working conditions
Collaborative work environment working in conjunction with other engineering disciplines, manufacturing, assembly, supply chain, finance, sales, clients, and vendors.
General working week of (40) hours with flexibility to work longer hours to meet project deadlines.
Customer work environment with proper protective equipment as required.
Willing and able to travel to customer sites when required.
Physical requirements
Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment.
Ability to handle equipment or parts weighing up to 50 pounds to support machine design process.
Ability to assembly mechanical and electrical systems.
