Client in Duncan, SC in search of a Mechanical Engineer – this will be a DIRECT HIRE
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday – Thursday, 7:30am - 4:30pm and Friday, 7:30am to 1:30pm, for a total of thirty-eight (38) hours. Additional work time required, as necessary.
Pay: 75K to 85K (Based on experience)
Health Benefits will start the first day of the month after hire date.
Benefits includes Medical with HSA Account, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, Group Term Life Insurance, and 401K.
All premiums are company paid for Individual and family.
Client contributions funds to HSA accounts to offset deductible for each employee and family.
Client matches up to $500 for 401K and discretionary contributions are made semi-annually to the employees as well.
Qualified Candidate:
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
3-5 years experience in manufacturing
ERP experience (such as SAP or Microsoft Navision/ Business Central)
CAD experience and SolidWorks
CNC programming (not a deal breaker)
Bearing, Tribology, or rotating equipment experience
Good communication skills
Customer service skills
Mechanically inclined
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The mechanical engineer position coordinates the technical aspects of projects, including research, costing, development work, problem solving, model designing, and coordinating same with the production department. Adapts, alters, or improves existing models when necessary and advises management of engineering problems or concerns. Reviews customer design requests for accuracy and provide input, suggestions or changes when advisable.

Sales support, in terms of technical and marketing principles within the assigned market
Smooth and extensive exchange of information on relevant technical aspects of the market.
Provide technical support internally and externally.
Clarify with customers, end users, consultants, etc. technical conditions, specifications, regulations, requirements, etc. for preparation of maximum acceptance.
Auditing product-related issues and addressing with suppliers and facilitating the process for assisting suppliers with correcting product issues.
Provide quality support for internal/external issues.
Supporting and enhancing the technical knowledge of the personnel in the Sales & Production Departments.
Assist in developing and implementing strategic measures in order to secure new customers and open new markets.
Perform engineering calculations to support customer and sales in selecting the correct product.
Create and review technical drawings and specification using computer software.
Establish bill of materials and manufacturing routing.

Work Environment
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and appropriate footwear . For the most part the employee will be exposed to ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
Physical Demands
Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. The position may require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. The employee may reach above shoulder heights or below the waist or lift as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques are required.
Travel
Occasional travel may be required for this position.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Minimum of 5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
ERP experience. Business Central or Microsoft Navision preferred
CAD experience. SolidWorks preferred.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bearing/tribology/rotating equipment experience/background.
CNC programming experience.
