Foreman - Operations Manager
Our ideal foreman
- A real hustler that has set up manufacturing operations before,
- Responsible for shop and crew, real team captain
- Be able to do the work too, not just manage, ideally even function as a master to journeymen, demonstrating how to do jobs to junior employees?
- Project type experience e.g. work trucks or tiny homes or direct relevant food truck experience would be ideal
- Balance pro-active "seeing the work" hustling with being able to take a step back and work to standards/process/protocol, e.g. follow hcd insignia process and standard for California builds, patience and thoroughness for State/County approvals for nw pacific coast builds
- Initiative will be rewarded, e.g. if there is some work you've not been explicitly told to do, see it, notice it, do it / get it done
- Strong focus on details and quality of build
- lives and understands Craftsmanship,
- No skimping on quality balanced w not all the world can be charged on corporate cc, understands the difference
- Ideally able to tell what/if employees our contractors are doing a good job. I.e. inspect and overseer sheet metal work, plumbing, electric, weldings/welds
- Should have a head for numbers for basic cost calculations, resistances, material / structure numbers to be able to hold his weight in discussing w. purchasing/equipment suppliers, engineers and draftsmen, electricians, so he can't be taken for a ride by them.
Does not at all:
- Have to be good with financials, accounts, legal, sales, marketing, we'll take care of that with the rest of team
