POSITION OVERVIEW – Patient Services
Hours: 8am-4:45pm (Monday – Thursday)
Hours: 8am-12noon (Friday)
Pay: $17.00 (Maybe be willing to pay more – depends on experience)
The New Patient Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming, organized, and supportive experience from initial inquiry through ongoing care. This role manages appointment scheduling, intake processes, insurance verification, communication between patients and clinical teams, and the overall flow of the patient journey. The ideal candidate is compassionate, highly organized, and skilled at multitasking in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
JOB DUTIES
Patient Interaction & Support
Guide new patients through the registration and intake process.
Provide clear, accurate information regarding services, procedures, clinic policies, and preparations.
Scheduling & Coordination
Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, cancellations, and waitlists.
Coordinate patient flow to ensure timely care and efficient clinic operations.
Administrative & Documentation Duties
Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and collect required documentation.
Prepare and organize paperwork, forms, and patient packets.
Communication & Collaboration
Liaise between patients, clinical staff, and departments to ensure seamless care.
Assist with internal workflows, quality improvement, and patient satisfaction initiatives.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong customer service skills
Ability to multi-tasks, set priorities, and manage time effectively
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
Must be detailed oriented
Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
Basic computer and keyboarding skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit for long periods of time
Must be able to hear, see, and speak
Occasional bending and reaching
Ability to use hands to type

COMPLIANCE
Demonstrates compliance with established system and departmental policies and procedures; included to but not limited to the dress code, attendance, safety (OSHA) and confidentiality (HIPAA). Adheres to job requirements regarding PPD testing, licensure, certification and assigned training.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
This job is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
