Summary of Primary Functions: Assist carpenters in fabrication, relocation, and placement of woodwork for prestress production beds.

Machines, Tools, and Equipment Used: Hammer, measuring tape, chalk line, pry bar, level, electric drill, pneumatic nail and staple gun, hard hat, safety glasses, shop cards, etc.

Materials Used: Wood, PVC pipe, Styrofoam, nails, staples, glue, etc.

Supervision Received: Reports to Carpenter Shop Supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high quality products.
Assist prestress carpenter in fabrication of all wood forms, bulkheads, haunches, reveals, and block outs.
Involves nailing of assemblies together and drilling holes in block outs and bulkheads for strand access.
Transports shop fabricated wood to prestress beds, distributes and assist carpenters in installing on beds.
Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by Supervisor.

Job Specifications or Qualifications

Certificates, Licenses, Registration: None.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Tindall job level training is required by end of progression period.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
