Quality Control Manager/Piedmont, SC – Direct Hire

 

Weaving & dye range exp and problem solving and root cause analysis MORE important than qc and management exp; ISO knowledge a plus too

Will be over 3-5 ppl

1st shift 7-3:30 (M-F)

Pay Range: $55-$70K

Summary:

Develop, implement and manage quality control systems to ensure continuous production of synthetic strapping consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints regarding quality.

  • Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.

  • Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.

  • Provide technical and statistical expertise to team members.

  • Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and ongoing quality control objectives.

  • Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other area supervisors to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.

  • Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures.

  • Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within the Company.

  • Provide and oversee inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.

  • Apply total and quality management tools and approach to analytical and reporting processes.

  • Work closely with the customer service team, plant managers and production supervisors to investigate and resolve customer issues and/or requirements.

  • Provide support on customer and agency audits.

  • Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in Kaizen and Lean manufacturing techniques is desired. Experience in Root Cause Analysis.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, clients, customers and the general public.

  • Use of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Office and PowerPoint required.

  • Ability to safely use and inspect testing equipment, hand pallet jacks and scissors.

  • Will be required to stoop, kneel, couch, crawl, visually inspect and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
