Regulatory Compliance Specialist I – Raw Materials
Location: Northbrook, IL
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Regulatory Compliance Specialist I – Raw Materials to support regulatory compliance activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for reviewing supplier documentation, maintaining accurate regulatory data, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations related to raw materials used in food, flavor, fragrance, botanical, and other regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities
Review supplier documentation and maintain accurate raw material regulatory information within internal databases.
Evaluate and organize regulatory documentation to support raw material compliance and internal decision-making.
Ensure compliance with applicable U.S., Canadian, LATAM, Brazilian, and international regulatory requirements.
Maintain knowledge of regulations and standards including IFRA, GHS, Proposition 65, TSCA, REACH, FDA requirements, and EU fragrance regulations.
Communicate with suppliers to obtain, verify, and clarify regulatory documentation.
Support internal departments by providing accurate regulatory information and escalating complex compliance issues when necessary.
Maintain and improve regulatory data integrity within compliance tracking systems.
Assist in developing training materials and process improvements to enhance regulatory compliance.
Provide backup support to other members of the Regulatory team as needed.
Participate in cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Regulatory Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Raw Material Documentation, or a related field.
Experience within the food, flavor, fragrance, botanical, chemical, or other regulated manufacturing industries is preferred.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements including:
GMP
Kosher
Halal
NOP
Allergen documentation
Product labeling
TTB
IFRA
REACH
CAS Numbers
Proposition 65
FDA regulations
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining data accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of flavor and fragrance chemistry is a plus.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 annually (based on experience)
