Service Technician/Greenville, SC – 10 + Years Expereince

Hours: 8am-5pm (M-F)

Pay: $35/$40 (Depends on Experience)

 

Knowledge of assembly, fabrication, maintenance, basic PLC programming, mechatronics, pulp & paper

Ability to train as will be teaching their customers; Business is booming; primary need will be for location in TN – currently has 4 machines and will be increasing to 70

 

Ground floor with growth opportunity as team lead/management

 

  • Service Technician Duties: Responsible for providing prompt and professional exemplary service to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair customer technical issues on industrial automation projects utilizing robotics, programmable controllers, servos, pneumatics, hydro processing systems, and multi-ton mechanical presses.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Repair, replace, or adjust all required mechanical and electrical equipment with a focus on quality to ensure that equipment can reliably return to service.

  • Committed to compliance with all safety standards and regulations.

  • Troubleshoot mechatronics-based system effectively using industry standard tools and implement corrective measures.

  • Work rapidly without compromising quality.

  • Effectively read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics, technical diagrams, and overall machine layouts to properly assemble, repair, and maintain complete mechatronics based industrial equipment.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and colleagues to give progress updates and suggest improvements.

  • Train colleagues and customer support staff on the proper maintenance and operation of the equipment.

  • Audit systems and suggest preventative repairs and updates to increase uptime and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Provide site installation and startup support at our customer’s facilities.

  • Responsibility for the health and safety of others through best-in-class work practices.

  • Dexterity and experience in properly using hand tools and power tools.

  • Maintain all support equipment and tools in excellent working order.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Other duties as required to meet customers’ requirements and deadlines.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working as a service or maintenance technician.

  • Able to read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics, technical diagrams, and machine layouts.

  • Experience troubleshooting and repair of mechatronic based machines, industrial electrical panels, and robotics.

  • Experience with Rockwell controls and FANUC robotics preferred.

  • Ability to perform basic controls software tasks such as program backups, setting IP addresses, and making minor edits with supervision.

  • Experienced with fabrication techniques (welding, drilling, etc.) to make emergency/temporary repairs if required.

  • Adept and using hand tools and power tools.

  • Solid working knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Ability and willingness to follow all legal and company safety regulations.

  • Outstanding problem solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Physical ability to complete this type of work, often in demanding environments.

  • Computer skills; well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)

  • Able to work in a culture of continuous improvement, using the given tools within the business to drive for simplicity, cost reduction, and overall process improvements.

  • Able to work independently with little supervision.

 

Working conditions

 

  • Collaborative work environment working in conjunction with engineering disciplines, manufacturing, assembly, supply chain, clients, and vendors.

  • General working week of (40) hours with flexibility to work longer hours to meet project deadlines.

  • Customer work environment with proper protective equipment as required.

  • Travel required for repair of equipment at customer sites, estimated travel of 80%.
