The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the operation of plastic films slitting equipment.

The Slitting Machine Operator is responsible for producing plastic film rolls of food packaging material within standard production efficiencies while verifying they meet customer specifications. Operators will have overall responsibility for the machine operation from set-up and manufacturing to maintenance and quality control/food packaging safety functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up and operate the slitter to slit rolls of flexible plastic film, and paper for use in making products for food packaging.

• Maintain acceptable production, waste, quality, and food packaging safety standards.

• Visually inspect finished samples to insure customer quality standards, and requirements are met.

• Complete production paper work and data entry on PC in a timely manner.

• Responsible for quality control. Make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications.

• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment according to 5s principals.

• Troubleshoot equipment and product quality issues.

• Follow all GMP and department safety rules.

• Other tasks and duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Educational

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

• Prior experience in a flexible converting environment.

• Good motor skills, mechanical dexterity and analytical skills are a plus.
