Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairs and maintenance of the entire facility including construction, painting, plumbing, welding, (electrical - low voltage and 480 volts three phase), heating, cooling and fire protection systems. Will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
Repairs or trouble-shoots (diagnoses) production equipment and supporting systems. Provides adjustments or calibrations as needed throughout the facility. Executes maintenance assignments under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or Plant Manager.
Performs preventative maintenance per schedule, weekly, monthly and /or annually. Recognizes and corrects potential equipment failure or unsafe conditions as needed.
Performs welding fabrication to new and existing equipment.
Performs new construction and/or repairs in the facility which includes plumbing, carpentry and electrical. Ensures that all work performed meets required codes (OSHA, city, state, and Federal) and follows ISO 9002 / 14001 procedures.
Reads, interprets, and carries out blueprint designs.
Repairs and maintains all heating and cooling systems and related duct work.
Participates in various training programs designed for maintenance and enhancement of job skills.
Knows, understands, and adheres to all occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
Advanced electrical, mechanical, and plumbing skills with strong troubleshooting ability.
Electrical license or ability to obtain one.
PLC programming and troubleshooting (AB intermediate certificate preferred)
Proficient in reading mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic blueprints
Knowledge of wastewater treatment and compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA standards.
Skilled in safe work practices: respiratory protection, fall protection, lockout/tagout, fire and electrical safety, confined space entry, forklift/scissor lift operation, welding, cutting, and brazing
Strong interpersonal and team-building skills
Experience with CMMS in industrial settings is a PLUS
Ability to operate and repair heavy machinery
Effective oral and written communication
Solid basic math and Microsoft 365 proficiency
Detail-oriented, organized
Physical Demands:
Regularly stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands, talk, and hear
Occasionally sit
Frequently lift/move up to 70 lbs; occasionally up to 100lbs with help
Able to climb and work at heights with safety gear
Requires a good close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustments.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing/warehouse setting with heavy lifting and standing; subject to seasonal weather changes
Use of safety gear(glasses, shoes, respirators, gloves, etc.) required
Must pass respirator certification and maintain clean-shaven face for hazardous materials.
Mostly indoor walk with varying temperatures
Regular exposure to moving machinery, airborne particles, and fumes
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Work Hours:
Monday – Friday from 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (EST), with some Saturdays in peak periods.
Starting hourly rate from $30.00 - $37.00 USD, plus benefits.
