CHASE Professionals is actively seeking a Wire EDM Operator to work for a premier metal stamping manufacturer located in South Charlotte. Candidate will program, set up, and operate wire EDM machines along with a variety of other machine tools. Metal Stamping/Manufacturing experience highly preferred.
Need people on 1 st and 2 nd shift
1 st shift hours: 7 AM- 4 PM Monday Friday
2 nd shift hours: 4pm-12: 30am Monday Friday
Pay Range: $45K-$80K (DOE)
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
Produce parts per prints and supplied specifications
Verify parts meet extremely close tolerance dimensions, alignments, clearance and specifications
Utilize G&M codes, MDI Programming and Conversational as well as Programmable Controls to perform tasks
Perform tool changes and offsets
Perform challenging setups
Utilize micrometers, calipers, gauges and inspect work against prints and/or CAD Model
Collaborate with customers, project managers, engineers and manufacturing team to supply parts and solutions to their needs in an environment that is constantly changing to meet scheduling needs.
Review routings and make recommendations to improve the machining of parts
Become familiar with and utilize processes and software to perform the required work
Continuously look for innovative ways to improve processes, reduce waste, increase throughput and productivity, improve efficiencies and increase customer satisfaction
Supply your own basic machinist tools
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
HighSchool diploma or general education degree (GED), technical degree or certificate in a related field is preferred
A minimum of 5 years' experience programming & operating EDM machines
Tooling experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to set up, program and run EDM machines and inspect parts to produce parts from prints working with minimal supervision
Ability to utilize SolidWorks to create and update models and prints is a benefit
Ability to manage 2 wire machines, process work to meet delivery dates, maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
Ability to work independently and in a team environment; self-motivated, organized and detail oriented
Excellent problem-solving and math skills
Strong attendance record and enjoy a fast-paced work environment
Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task while working under tight deadlines with the ability to quickly modify work tasks based on changing schedules and needs
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Frequently required to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to eight hours per day in a manufacturing environment.
